The motorcycle test rig is designed for motorcycle testing with and without wheels.
When a motorcycle is tested without wheels, all hydraulic actuators are used. The actuators are connected through the hydrostatic dummy rim, which transfers forces from vertical/horizontal connections and eliminates the force transfer between actuators and adds the next degree of freedom. When the motorcycle is tested with the wheels on, only two vertical actuators with axle mounts are used.
The test rig is designed as a modular kit, where certain parts can be replaced. The test rig contains a pneumatic system for steering bar load and dummy body simulation.
4 DOF System
System allow testing for 4DOF system and 2 poster system. DOF system use all four actuator, each group (front and rear) is connected together. In 4DOF system are horizontal and vertical actuators connected together through the Dummy rim with hydrostatic bearing.
2 Poster System
For the 2 poster system only two vertical actuators are used for testing.
The 2 poster system only two vertical actuators are used for testing. The Horizontal actuators are disconnected. During testing the motorbike must be stabilized in longitudinal and lateral direction, as well as safety ropes have to be installed.
